Pago de Carraovejas is part of a unique landscape. A valley that inspires her every day and gives meaning to her understanding of wine. Since she started out, she has learnt to to listen to the earth, because it knows that every hillside, every aspect and every type of soil has a story to tell.
Its valley is much more than just a place. It is a a vibrant, diverse and richly nuanced environment. As it defines its own philosophy, Pago de Carraovejas is ‘the embodiment of the valley; the ultimate expression of the terroir’. Each wine is born out of a deep connection with this environment and aims to be ‘a reflection of the Carraovejas Valley’.
Diversity is at the very heart of this landscapeis present in the soil fertility, in the various guidelines on the estate, in the flora and fauna that surround it and in the more than a hundred small vineyards that make up its mosaic of vineyards. It is this diversity that brings identity, balance and uniqueness to everything he does.
But diversity is also found in people. In those who, from different experiences, knowledge and ways of seeing the world, contribute every day to building this project. Because it believes that growth means bringing together different perspectives and that differences are a source of learning and shared wealth.
When he looks out over the valley, he realises that his commitment goes beyond simply making wine. Alión 2021
The most contemporary and elegant expression of Ribera del Duero, a Tempranillo that combines the region's winemaking tradition with a modern approach to winemaking.
