Absolute success of El DíaV

Éxito absoluto de El DíaV

DíaV brings together more than 700 people around wine, gastronomy and wine tourism in an unforgettable day in Ribera del Duero.

Absolute success of the wine tourism experience organised by five of the most emblematic wineries of Ribera del Duero: Tinto Pesquera, Protos, Alión, Pago de Carraovejas and Emilio Moro Ribera del Duero has experienced a special and pioneering day. A selection of exceptional wines from five emblematic wineries of this wine region and a gastronomic offer to match were the main attractions of a first-class wine tourism event. But, without a doubt, the people's response to the adventure of a unique event was the key. More than 700 people, who had already sold out days before, enjoyed a day where wine was at the centre and Ribera del Duero was the perfect idyllic setting.

El Día V ha sido una experiencia enoturística única a través de cinco de las bodegas más emblemáticas de Ribera del Duero: Tinto Pesquera, Protos, Alión, Pago de Carraovejas y Emilio
This exclusive event has been sponsored by the Junta de Castilla y León, Diputación de Valladolid, through Alimentos de Valladolid and the Milla de Oro del vino de Valladolid, Ayuntamiento de Peñafiel, Banco Sabadell, Cork Supply, Cartonajes Santorromán, Argraf, Ramondin, RIEDEL Euroselecció and 22 Artesian Water.

According to the five organising wineries, ‘the people's response proves us right; we needed an event to enjoy and promote Ribera del Duero wine and we have succeeded’.

They also recognise that the teamwork of the five wineries has been key to the success of El DíaV.

They also wanted to thank the response and the behaviour of the public because it has been
wonderful and shows that they can be trusted and they have emphasised that El DíaV has also served to focus on the enormous wealth of this area; its wines, but also the top quality products that have their own hallmark and that have been enjoyed and appreciated on this day.

Finally, these five pioneering wineries believe that the image of Ribera del Duero wines has been strengthened and has left a mark on each of the participating wineries thanks to the five values represented; it has not only been a first-class wine tourism experience but also a very important boost to the Ribera del Duero brand.

Pioneering event

Although the proposal was attractive, the answer was not written because El DíaV is a pioneer event: never before has a wine tourism activity been held in this region for a whole
day and simultaneously in five different wineries.

After the event, the response has been unanimous. Their attitude, their desire to
enjoy and support the event has been key to the smooth running of the event. The attendees have
divided into five groups of 150 participants. Each group followed a different
specific route that each attendee decided on when purchasing their ticket. This has ensured the
exclusivity of a high quality wine tourism event.

Wine and gastronomy

V Day has proposed an exclusive journey based on two fundamental elements for the wine tourism experience: wine and gastronomy. Thus, the participating wineries have offered two high-end references paired with tapas to match.

At Bodegas Tinto Pesquera the wines served were Tinto Pesquera MXI 2021 and Tinto Pesquera Reserva 2020. To accompany these wines, a tapa made with spring truffle and a casserole of Dehesa la Granja chickpeas with ear was enjoyed, which enhances the complex and elegant flavours of both wines, creating a perfect harmony on the palate. Alimentos de Valladolid offered a tasting of strawberries from Ideal Fruits.

The wines Protos'27 2022 and Protos Verdejo Reserva 2020 are the proposals of Bodegas Protos for EL DíaV. These wines were accompanied by a tapa of suckling lamb dumplings with churro ramen, which perfectly complements the flavours and textures of both wines. Alimentos de Valladolid offered a tasting of lentils IGP Tierra de Campos and asparagus from Tudela with a guarantee brand.

At Alión, a skewer of lamb with vine shoots was served, highlighting the richness and depth of the flavours, creating a unique gastronomic and wine experience topped off by the wines Alión 2021 and Mandolás 2022. Alimentos de Valladolid offered a tasting of cheeses from La Flor de Esgueva.

Another of the participating wineries is Pago de Carraovejas. Here the gastronomic offer is twofold. A delicious Pastela de cochinillo (suckling pig pie) and Sopas de ajo (garlic soup) have been tasted. This regional delicacy will be paired with the wines Pago de Carraovejas 2022 and Ossian 2022. Alimentos de Valladolid offered a tasting of vegetable empanada from La Giralda de Castilla.

In the case of Bodegas Emilio Moro, the wines uncorked at El Día V are La Revelía 2022 and Malleolus de Valderramiro 2021. And its gastronomic pairing was a tapa of cheeks taco in red wine with portobello mushroom and caramelised onion. Alimentos de Valladolid offered a tasting of marinated Hermi rabbit salad with pickled vegetables.

V Wineries, V Values

Each winery holds an overall value that provides a narrative for the exceptional wines and quality gastronomy that have been offered.

The excellence of Tinto Pesquera. A winery that fosters a love of wine and a passion for sharing it. Thanks to its pioneering approach to the production of wines made from Tempranillo grapes, artisanal techniques are combined with technological innovations.

Sustainability is the value at Protos. Maximum respect for the vineyard, its nature and care, as the only way to achieve quality winemaking for a more sustainable future, is one of the maxims of Protos in its day-to-day work.

The landscape and diversity of Alión. It is the representation of the diversity of the Ribera del Duero that was born to bring a contemporary vision of the tradition of the area. In 1991 Alión, the second winery of the Álvarez family, was founded as a project independent from Vega Sicilia, with the aim of producing modern, differentiated wines within the Ribera del Duero designation of origin.

The authenticity of Pago de Carraovejas. The winery is distinguished by its commitment to quality and respect for origin, capturing in each bottle the essence of the surrounding landscape. Its vineyards, planted on steep slopes and limestone soils, benefit from a unique microclimate that favours optimal ripening of the grapes.

The tradition of Emilio Moro. The winery's philosophy focuses on balancing tradition with modernity. Advanced winemaking techniques are implemented respecting the methods passed down through generations, resulting in wines that reflect the distinctive character of Ribera del Duero. This commitment to quality allows Emilio Moro to remain a benchmark both nationally and internationally.

With these five values, two wines will be served by wineries and gastronomic tapas to reinforce these values in the attendees.

This experience has sought to consolidate Ribera del Duero as a leading wine tourism destination, highlighting the importance of wine as an art that connects people and cultures.

Each winery has offered not only its best wines, but also an environment designed for fun and enjoyment, with cultural and artistic proposals that have surprised the attendees.
